John painted this landscape after visiting Neuschwanstein Castle in Bayern, Germany. According to German folklore the lake and grounds where the castle is located was the inspiration for Tchaikovsky’s opera Swan Lake.

The painting, leaves you with a sense of calm serenity.

The contemporary black matte frame gives the painting an elegant look.  This painting will look good anywhere in your home. Hanging hardware ready for you to display

Colors: several shades of Green, blue, gray, burnt sienna, raw sienna and raw umber.

Materials:  Quality acrylic paint, Canvass board, Black matte frame, gesso, assorted gel mediums, hanging hardware , soft gel Gloss Satin Varnish

Process: It takes John many hours to produce a quality painting. The first task is to prime the canvas and make a rough sketch on the canvass. The next step is to decide what the dominant colors and tones are and to loosely paint these areas, or block them in.

He spends a considerable amount of time on the next step: working on refining the shapes and colors. Lastly, more details, tones, and highlights are added in.

The rich vivid colors in this painting are achieved by laying down several coats of custom blended paint.

Two coats of an acrylic medium to seal the painting are applied after a 24-hour period. Finally, two coats of satin varnish are added in for protection and to produce a nice soft low luster sheen.

John loves painting and enjoys expressing and sharing what he sees.
