A quality original, signed, 100% hand painted acrylic painting

While hiking through Tucson, Arizona, my wife and I came upon this beautiful spot where we stopped and had lunch. I was struck by dry and mysterious trees found throughout the area. This painting depicts that beautiful area. The landscape with large barren trees, a lake in the middle, and  cactus in the distance, leaves you with a feeling of “other world.”

The painting includes a pre-installed hanging wire and is ready for you to display.

Colors: Aqua green, green, gray, raw sienna, burnt sienna, raw umber, a touch of cadmium yellow and cadmium red.

Materials:

  • Quality acrylic paint
  • Premier Galley Profile, 100% cotton duck canvass stretched over a Kiln-dried, warp resistant solid wood heavy duty frame.
  • Assorted gels and medians
  • pre-installed hanging wire and is ready for you to display.
  • Beautifully fitted perfect for a frameless display

The painting does not require a frame because it is Gallery wrapped

Gallery wrapped: This is a method of stretching an artist’s canvas so that the canvas wraps around the sides of the stretcher bar and is secured to the back of the wooden frame. The frame is 1.5 “thick. The painting continues on to the edges of the canvas.

Process: It takes John many hours to produce a quality painting. The first task is to prime the canvas and make a rough sketch on the canvass. The next step is to decide what the dominant colors and tones are and to loosely paint these areas, or block them in.

He spends a considerable amount of time on the next step, which is, working on refining the shapes and colors. Lastly, more details, tones, and highlights are added in.

The rich vivid colors in John’s paintings are achieved by laying down several coats of custom blended paint. This painting will look good anywhere.

Two coats of an acrylic medium to seal the painting are applied after a 24-hour period. Finally, two coats of satin varnish are added in for protection and to produce a nice soft low luster sheen.

John loves painting and enjoy expressing and sharing what he sees.
